He grew up in Prairie du Chien with his parents, Tom and Barb, younger brother, Nolan, and twin sister, Natalie.

“My mom works at Peoples State Bank, so I remember as a kid coming into the bank for milkshakes during June Dairy Days and hanging out at company picnics. There were a few other employees with boys my age, so I had fun hanging out with them.”

During high school, Nate enjoyed soccer, football, basketball, golf, FFA, Skills USA and PALS.

“I thought Skills USA was a great way to grow professionally during high school. I remember during the interview competition all the judges would be sitting watching you. It was intense!”

In 2013, Nate had the opportunity to participate in Business World at St. Norbert College. He was invited back to the advanced competition the following summer where his team placed second.

“Business World really gave us hands-on experience. I was the CFO of our team, and together we had to manage all aspects of the business: marketing the product, finances, etc. I definitely enjoyed the finance side of it, but marketing wasn’t really my thing.”

As a high school student, Nate downloaded the Peoples State Bank mobile app.

“Efficiency is important to me, so having the mobile app really made sense. I found it was very user friendly, and the latest update has made it even more so.”

Nate decided to attend Minnesota State University, Mankato to major in corporate finance.

“Now that I’m in college, especially since it’s in another state, the mobile app has become like a necessity. Actually, right now I have a check that I’ll be depositing through the app. I can easily manage my accounts, but I do still like to go into the bank for some things.”

Last summer, Nate worked at Kwik Trip’s Corporate Headquarters in La Crosse and was invited to come back this summer.

When asked his favorite thing about Peoples State Bank, this was Nate’s response:

“Walking in the door to smiling faces. Peoples State Bank is full of good people, good smiles and good customer service.”
